Bought my SXT used, but only 1 owner. Liked it at first as cars didnt provide enough room for kids. Then everything went bad: motors on auto sliding side doors broke, not under warranty, dealers want $1000 or more to fix. Theyre still broken. Power locks didnt work right, motor defects, etc. and it had clean carfax. Always owned Honda/Toyota. Now I know why. Save your $ for something with a much better resale value. Its worth less that what I owe so I cant even sell it.

Purchased this vehicle new. Worst vehicle I have ever owned in my life. AC gone 6 times, airbag sensors 4 times, tie rods last 35000 miles, stow & go and all interior fittings are poor quality, steering rack gone at 80,000 miles, alternator gone at 35,000 miles, belt tensioner gone at 35,000 miles and the list goes on and on. Do not buy one of these vehicles. No wonder the North American auto industry is in trouble

This van is the small one. Lack of storage and console, no grab bar for front passengers. Inadequate air conditioning for Florida and for passengers beyond the front seats. It has an uncomfortable front passenger seat with limited adjustment. The second seat cupholders are poorly designed and placed. So far only 13.1 miles per gallon city, the same as my previous SUV V-8 which had all the amenities. For the high cost, this vehicle appears stripped and is not a good value. Im so disappointed with vehicle, I plan on trading with my son for his older SUV.

  • SE plus power train - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

I bought a SE plus 2005 Grand caravan vehicle couple of months back. Initially vehicle was good but now it is not that great. Currently I have about 3000 miles only. Getting a rattle noise from engine(started around 1500 miles), checked with dealer couple of times but they claim it is normal for this powertrain. Dealers are not ready to write anything about the design flaw. Dealership Mechanics agree that it is an issue with 2005 models, but they refuse to give in writing.I am posting here as it might help the ones who is planning to buy one. I would strongly caution them.

  • Sorry I Bought This One. - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

This van has been in the shop EIGHT times since we bought it. They have done 2 alignments, replaced defective tires, and it still pulls to the right. (not to mention the right front tire is worn out, again)Now the Dealer and Dodge are saying that this is normal. There were 2 interior body panels that warped so bad they had to be replaced. (left front A pillar, and the Right rear) HMMM. Not to mention that the lack of adjustment to the front seats, leaves my wifes legs sore. It still needs to go in again. All that said, I will never buy another Dodge product. This is going up for sale very soon.

  • POOR QUALITY - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

This is the first Dodge weve owned and it will definitely be the last! One day it just started leaking water in the passenger floor, sometimes the rear door will unlock, sometimes it wont, engine light came on at 60,000 miles, you have to tap the rear lights to get them to work, and now the air bag sensor light comes on and off at random. Biggest junk ever made. DONT BUY DODGE IF YOU WANT MORE THAN 50K MILES OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

  • Piece of junk - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

We bought this van last year. Since then besides almost everything inside falling off, ripping or breatking, we had two cylinders freeze up. We got them fixed, and they just did it again and we have shelled out a ton of money due to loopholes where our warrenty didnt cover it. This van takes constant keep up and money and now were stuck owing $18,000 on a van that isnt even worth $13,000. Dont buy one!

  • ATTN: Muffler issue on Stow n Go Models - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
    By -

Not a good design.Getting annoying noise from Muffler at certain RPM(30- 40Mph typically). Dealer agrees it is design issue with stow N go seating models. Spoke to Crysler customer support department, unexpectedly Very Very POOR response. They said, they wont do anything about it and told me do whatever you can. My car has about 1500 miles and only 2 months old. I started noticing this after 750 miles. I am not at all satisfied with Crysler. This is not my first car, this is my 5th vehicle that I bought.

  • Dont waste your money on a Dodge - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

I did a lot of research prior to buying my minivan. Somehow this thing came up good. I shoudve trusted my instinct and walked away from the dealer. No wonder Chrysler is going under. Like everyone else: 16k- new brakes and again at 31k! I finally did not go to a dealer and found a great mechanic who said Dodge is notorious for it. Chrysler does not stand behind its product. It has been in for TSBs about 5 times. No good when we tote kids. I sunk a lot of money into this thing and I wish it would sink into mud and never be seen again. The only good thing: sto and go is great, it is pretty comfortable, gas mileage not too bad. If I werent so much into debt in it, I would trade it in!

  • Very disappointed! - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Has had steering problems a couple times already with a terrible grinding noise. Cheaply made interior, covers break easily. Was told that middle and back seats were interchangeable when buying van, but they arent. Found this out only after lugging out heavy the back seat. No stow-n-go with this van makes it even more of a hassle. Terrible pick up, feels like a truck, cant afford to put gas in it. This van burns gas horribly. I went 30 city miles and it burned a half tank of gas! If I didnt owe so much in this piece of junk Id be trading it in. Im actively still trying to trade it in somewhere. Buyer beware! Dont buy a Grand Caravan!
